The Daunte Wright Act
Daunte Wright was needlessly murdered while police attempted unnecessary misdemeanor arrest, needlessly killing him. The Daunte Wright Act is about decriminalizing non-violent misdemeanor arrests.
The great majority of the 15 million arrests made annually are on non-violent misdemeanor charges. Most police brutality and murder cases occur during non-violent misdemeanor arrests. If we decriminalize all non-violent misdemeanor arrests we could categorically eliminate a majority of police abuse and murder.
